Ethnography of science III

Fieldwork by Zdenka Sokolickova

Svalbard, Norway, 2022

These images were shared with EASA by anthropologists Zdenka Sokolickova. They are taken by Dagmara Wojtanowicz during a scientific expedition called SEES in July 2022 to Edgeøya, Svalbard.

Zdenka writes “I was there doing ethnography of science, joining the Dutch ecologist Ingeborg Klarenberg during her fieldwork studying moss species. I asked the photographer of the expedition (Dagmara Wojtanowicz) to capture some moments during our joint fieldwork, keeping the word “encounter” (inspired by Tsing, 2015) in mind. Both Dagmara and Ingeborg agreed with me sharing the pictures with you guys.”
