Responsible travel

Conferences, especially the big ones, take a toll on the environment. Air-conditioning of venues, laundrying of thousands of sheets and towels in accommodation facilities, catering waste – the list goes on. However, the single biggest contributor to a conference’s carbon footprint is travel, accounting to more than 3/4th of all the carbon emissions. We would like to urge all of you to consider responsible travel options, and recommend looking into overland travel by train or buses as air travel remains the biggest polluter of all.

Have a look at train travel options inside Europe here: https://www.raileurope.com/index.html?country_origin=GR
