16th EASA Biennial Conference
New anthropological horizons in and beyond Europe
21-24 July 2020 in Lisbon
ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon and ICS-Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon
Registration is not open yet. Opening Early Bird registration has been postponed to 15 April. Please see here for COVID-19/Coronavirus situation update.
The fees cited below are ballpark figures for any prospective delegate needing to assemble an approximate budget for their conference attendance. The final fees will be confirmed by end of March 2020.
All those wishing to attend the conference have to register online and in advance. This does not necessitate paying at that time; registrations are manually checked and an invoice emailed to delegates including payment instructions - you then have fifteen days to pay. Payment can be taken online by credit card using WorldPay, PayPal, or by a bank transfer.
All convenors and presenters must be members of EASA (during 2020), and have paid their subscription before the conference. Signing up for the membership and paying the membership fee is a separate process from conference registration.
Through a generous award from the Wenner-Gren Foundation, supplemented by EASA money, funds will be available to support delegate attendance. The Call for Funding is now open and will close on 23 March 2020. See here for funding information.
Lisbon is a popular travel destination and the EASA2020 conference takes place during the high season. While accommodation options have proliferated in the past few years, it would still be wise to start booking early to find the best option for you. See our accommodation information page here.
N.B. If you are a former member of EASA but your membership has lapsed, please log in to Cocoa to request a membership renewal. Please do not make another application for membership!
Full conference registration includes lunch and coffee breaks, access to the keynote, panel sessions, the film programme, laboratories, network meetings, the book exhibit, all the fringe events. A printed conference programme will be provided to all delegates on arrival.
There will be conference party (with food and music) on the final night, the tickets for which should be booked when registering, and which will incur an additional fee. More info will follow.
The conference registration fees are likely to be in the order of:
Concession member (students, low-waged, unemployed): €200
Day regns: ~€100 (depending on category)
NCN panelists: €25 (no membership requirement)
Rates will rise by €50 on 20 April when the early-bird period ends.
Registrations cancelled (notifying us by email) more than three weeks before the conference will be refunded, less a small amount to cover administrative and finance costs. Cancellations made within three weeks of the event will br ineligible for such a refund, due to costs already incurred. Refunds at that point will be discretionary.
Any queries with the above please email conference(at)easaonline.org.
