Looking for a new AgeNet Communication Officer!

As our great Martina Laganà has left for an intensive fieldwork, AgeNet is looking for a new Communication Officer to join AgeNet working Team. This is not a renumerated position but it offers an opportunity to work closely with like-minded colleagues to actively shape the rhytm, vibe and agenda of the European anthropology of ageing and generations, life-course and care.

The role of the AgeNet Comms typically involves:

  • updating AgeNet (WordPress) website and Facebook account (recent calls, publications, upcoming events : ongoing, on average 2 hrs per week)
  • updating the AgeNet members repository (once a year, circa 10 hrs in total)
  • liaising with AgeNet Convenors to prepare and circulate content relevant to AgeNet
  • occassionally communicating with EASA/NomadIT web& communication team to spread AgeNet news more broadly (to all EASA members and broader audiences)

Depending on the time the Comms has on their disposal, they could also take the lead in further re-imagining the online space through which anthros of ageing could exchange ideas and collegial support – the sky and Comms time at hand, is the limit!

  • No previous experience with web-editing or social media coordination is necessary! The new Comms will be introduced to the job by the previous Communication teams – so a great opportunity to learn on the job.
  • The Comms will start working at their earliest convenience (the sooner, the better) and their mandate will expire (and can be renewed) in July 2026.

Apply by 2 February 2026 by sending the email to: ageneteasa@gmail.com – just a short email expressing your interest will do – we will take it from there!

Similarly, in case of questions, please contact the AgeNet convenors at ageneteasa@gmail.com.
