The Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Catani= a is calling for applications for 2 Incoming Postdoc Research Fellowships w= ith a duration of 1 year (an additional year of funding may be granted). Th= e fellowships are part of an interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral EU funded re= search project titled =93PROTECT. The Right to International Protection. A = Pendulum between Globalization and Nativization?=94 (https://protectproject= .w.uib.no/).
The first Research Fellowship is directed at international early-career pos= tdoctoral researchers from the Social Anthropology field. Eligible to apply= are researchers who have completed their doctorate in Social Anthropology = in Italy (s.s.d. M-DEA/01) or abroad (in the same research field), and are = fluent in Italian and English. Fellows must undertake an ethnographic field= work in Sicily among actors involved in migration governance and refugee pr= otection, as well as among vulnerable groups in need of international prote= ction, and collaborate with academic and non-academic partner organizations= . The second Research Fellowship is directed at international early-career po= stdoctoral researchers from the Political Science field. Eligible to apply = are researchers who have completed their doctorate in Political Science in = Italy (s.s.d. SPS/04) or abroad (in the same research field), and are fluen= t in Italian and English. Fellows must undertake a survey on how the Global= Compacts on Refugees and Migrants affect the work, strategies and networki= ng patterns of civil society organizations and other stakeholders involved = in refugee protection and asylum governance structures in Sicily, and colla= borate with academic and non-academic partner organizations.
