New Transylvania Creative Bootcamp bridging Filmmaking and Visual Anthropology
Dear Vaneasa Community, We invite passionate members to apply for the Transylvania International Film Academy, taking place in Sibiu, Romania, between the 23rd and 30th of August 2026.
The new Cineimpact Creative Bootcamp is dedicated to Filmmaking, Anthropology and Empathic Story Design, embracing the personal and collective challenges of visual researchers and creators in the age of AI. Transylvania International Film Academy offers a uniquely immersive experience that bridges the practices of Visual Anthropology with Cinema, Non-Fiction and Docu-Fiction Storytelling. The program is set in Sibiu, a historically rich city nestled between the Carpathian Mountains and the Transylvanian High Plain. The residential program is complemented by online post-production sessions. During the Transylvania Creative Bootcamp participants learn how to optimally research and construct new films, or further develop their work-in-progress documentary or hybrid projects. Guided by an internationally recognised method, they explore the complementary relationships between Cinema and Visual Anthropology, Documentary Transmedia and Sensory Field-Research, Docu-Fiction Production and Social Sciences. Applicants are welcome to apply if motivated to upgrade their research and creative skills through an innovative merge of Immersive Research and Immersive Storytelling — at a time when distinctive human studies and creativity matters more than ever. Since 2014, Cineimpact Academy programs have explored challenging themes across Romania, Spain and Italy, developing participants from over 20 countries. Scholarships are available for deserving candidates.
