A message from Dr Abel Polese, Associate Professor at the Dublin City University, Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ireland
We are looking for a part-time collaborator. This is not a standard job opening but we expect to be able to mobilise sufficient resources for the person once we agree on a workflow and tasks (freelance agreement is also possible, if that’s the best match for the person’s professional situation).
It may remain sporadic (part-time) or move into a more systematic and stable collaborations over time so if you’re looking for something stable immediately we’re unable to accommodate that.
Collaboration may involve one or more of the following (depending on time, experience and time availability):
  -Fundraising
  -Project management
-Academic editing (i.e. co-edit special issues or books)
-Help coordinating a research (or a research group)
  -Organise events (conference, workshops)
-Any other things: we are open to ideas
*Geographical focus*: Primary focus is Southeast Asia with possible extensions to the Indo-Pacific, Central Asia or Africa
*Topics*: Informal governance, informality, shadow economies, environmental governance (including management of commons, disasters and catastrophes), climate-change induced vulnerability, political ecology, social economy (all from a critical/radical perspective) – other foci can be acceptable aslong as they are related.
*Level/**experience*: could be a pre-doc (in which case we could facilitate enrolment in PhD studies) or post-doc. More senior people can be considered as long as they have spare time (which is usually not the case since we arein the age of overworking)
*Skills*: preferable some writing and management experience. In the absence of this, capacity to learn and process fast, communication skills and multitasking would be useful.
*Language*: No need to be native English speaker but professional fluency in writing is necessary
If you fit the profile and are not scared by the way we framed the announcement send a short CV and a short cover letter explaining what you would like to do and how your experience/expertise matches that
By November the 5th (later messages might be accepted but it all depends on how many people respond, if just a few, then later expressions of interest are not a problem) to abel.polese@dcu.ie
