EASA Academic Mentorship Programme – Call for Mentees

Deadline: 31 Aug 2025
Affiliation: European Association of Social Anthropologists

The European Association for Social Anthropologists (EASA) invites applications for its second round of the mentorship program. This free and fully remote mentorship program aims to provide academic guidance and support for early-to mid-career scholars. The program aims to facilitate long-lasting relationships between mentors and mentees tailored to their career stage and needs. Applications from underrepresented groups and those with limited institutional support for their professional development are especially encouraged to apply and will be prioritized in the selection process.

The mentorship program is scheduled to take place from September 2025 until May 2026. The program includes six meetings total: an initial group orientation with all mentors and mentees, followed by five individual mentor-mentee sessions throughout the academic year. The first plenary session will be moderated by Dr. Sultan Doughan and Dr. Hayal Akarsu. Mentees will receive a certificate of completion upon the conclusion of the program.

Eligibility

• The mentorship program is open to early-to mid-career scholars (late-PhD students, postdocs, contingent faculty, and assistant professors who have received their PhDs no more than 8 years ago).

• Applicants need to be EASA members.

• A total of 10-15 mentees will be selected, and the program necessitates a serious commitment from the mentees to the scheduled mentorship meetings, so please take this into account while applying.

Those exploring non-academic career paths should consider the excellent EASA Applied Anthropology Network mentorship program, designed to support (aspiring) anthropologists since February 2024.

Please complete this application form answering all required questions by August 31st, 2025, midnight (CEST). Incomplete applications will not be considered.
