I am writing to share an immediate opportunity to apply for funding through our COST action EU BEACON One Health Education CA24106 COST action (OC-2024-1-27164), by submitting a virtual scientific mission proposal via e-COST. Virtual missions are the preferred format and can provide up to four thousand euros per applicant to deliver concrete results aligned with the objectives of the action and the advancement of the network.

I am  also sharing the current version of the action communication, dissemination and exploitation plan, attached for your reference. This plan is scheduled for discussion and approval within the next two months. We actively encourage engagement from the full membership in the proposal and decision making processes, both for this initial plan and for its subsequent iterations, as well as for the development of working group roadmaps. This action is set to work in a full transparent and open ethical democratic governance model, enabled, supported and enforced by an open science, full open source, technical stack. The ambition is to consolidate a thriving excellence network that supports collective success and contributes positively to career development across the action, with particular attention to those facing more difficult professional or personal circumstances. Please feel free to share this funding opportunity and the broader invitation to participate with colleagues who may be interested, as well as the opportunity to engage from all your positions. We welcome contributions from all disciplines and skill sets, as diversity of expertise and sufficient quorum are essential to achieving the objectives set out in the technical annex submitted with the COST application. It is particularly encouraged to involve responsible new talent from under resourced contexts, marginalized communities, and individuals at any career stage who could benefit from inclusion and support, with special attention to early career researchers. The action is expanding to cover the COST area in greater depth, and your support in this process is greatly appreciated.

In the coming period, we will also resume coordinated work on publications and external grant calls, with the aim of shaping competitive consortia and strengthening the sustainability of our collaboration. If you are not yet registered as a member in the action and are able to contribute to the collective work underway, I kindly invite you to join, as well as to share ample and wide this opportunity to others. My apologies if this was not of your interest at the moment.

Thank you very much for your attention, engagement, and continued interest.

With best regards,

Henning (né Enric) Garcia Torrents
