Professor Ana Bravo-Moreno (PhD), the principal investigator of the ERC Project: “A Novel Approach to New Family Forms, Assisted Reproductive Technologies and Transnationalism. A multi-sited ethnography: Spain, Denmark, Canada and Israel” at the National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain, is looking for one postdoctoral researcher who will be responsible for conducting an ethnography in Copenhagen (Denmark) for a maximum of 3 years.

The position may be based in Madrid at the CSIC or in Denmark; the candidate will conduct fieldwork in Denmark. Therefore the candidate should be a native speaker of Danish or be proficient in Danish. Research responsibilities:

· To be part of the ERC project “REPRO-SCAPES” where you will be responsible for conducting an ethnography.

· To write a literature review concerning the country where you conduct fieldwork.

· To carry out interviews with at least 75 families.

· To conduct at least 25 semi-structured interviews with clinicians from major ART clinics and key NGOs representatives.

· To transcribe and translate the interviews into English using AI, ensuring correspondence between the transcription, translation, and the interviewees’ words.

· To recruit subjects using purposive sampling, the request for participants will be distributed through associations, relevant internet websites, professional and leisure networks, ARTs clinics, as well as snowballing.

· To conduct virtual research following links within and through Europe and other regions in the world.

· To plan the single-site ethnography, discuss and confirm the interview schedule and pilot interviews with families and representative clinics and NGOs.

· To develop coding profiles and refine them, these activities will run through the project and will shape planning data collection and analysis.

· To write a fieldwork diary and use other key sources of ethnographic data that are performed in natural settings and reflect the reality of participants’ life experiences.

· To analyse the data.

· To publish 2 research articles per year, some co-authored with team members, and a chapter in one edited book that will comply with the Open Access regulations that EU projects must follow and will have DOI and ISBN registration numbers.

· To present findings in at least one international conference per year.

· To collaborate with other researchers in our team in accordance with the overall research plan.

Requirements for the position:

· A doctoral degree

· Background in social anthropology or related disciplines in social sciences.

· The candidate should be proficient in the local language, being his/her mother tongue or bilingual.

· The candidate will be expected to speak and publish in English; therefore, documented proficiency in English is required.

· Documented experience in publishing in English in academic journals (appropriate to career stage).

· Demonstrated experience in ethnography and qualitative research methods.

· Ability to work independently and as a member of a research team.

· Only applicants whose research interests and previous research work could contribute to the research team and the project as a whole will be considered for this position.

Conditions

The appointment is for a maximum of 3 years, full-time, in accordance with the European Commission regulations and the Spanish National Research Council.
