‘Transmutation – The beating of the last looms is a social appeal about the disappearance of manual weaving, and the last women who keep up with this tradition. It is a multimedia piece in which sound and image converge on an artistic narrative that crosses with an anthropological view. During the musical composition, created by the experimental musician Mestre André, we were able to identify the key moments of the creative process and the different cadences of each instrument of textile production, as well as the interaction/look of the director João Meirinhos with the last weavers and only spinner.’
