The EASA Academic Mentorship Programme was launched for the academic year 2024 and the 2026-2027 call is the programme’s third edition. This free, and fully remote, mentorship programme aims to provide academic guidance and support for early-to mid-career scholars depending on their career stage and needs while facilitating long-lasting relationships with mentors and mentees. The mentorship programme is open to early-to mid-career scholars, including late-PhD students, postdocs, contingent faculty, and assistant professors who have received their PhDs no more than 8 years ago. Applications from underrepresented groups and those with limited institutional support for their professional development were especially encouraged was prioritized in the selection process.
The 2026 -2027 edition of the programme is coordinated by Dr. Sultan Doughan and Dr. Panas Karampampas. Mentees and mentors received a certificate of completion upon the conclusion of the programme.
Following two successful editions, the programme continues to offer free, fully remote mentoring for early and mid career anthropologists. The mentoring relationship provides an independent space to discuss academic career development, publishing, research trajectories, grant applications, teaching, professional networks and other issues relevant to the mentee’s career. The programme is free of charge.
The call for mentees is now closed. We have received more than 100 applications and we are currently recruiting mentors to respond to such a high interest in the programme.
