EASA’s Integrity Committee fosters scholarly integrity in the European Anthropology community and aims to facilitate discussion on, and protection of such standards. EASA is a supra-national association and thus bound by national and institutional legal frameworks. While it has no legal leverage beyond these frameworks, it holds its members to integrity standards and may undertake action that may affect membership status if breaches in research integrity by EASA members are brought to its attention. While we cannot comment on ongoing procedures, the EASA IC would like to note that it has been called to act upon several cases. Often such cases are complex – ethically, legally and socially – which slows down procedures. We do however want to underline here and in future events that EASA does not tolerate harassment, discrimination or other forms of professional misconduct and that we actively work towards a change of culture. The EASA Integrity Committee has developed a specific EASA code of conduct and complaints policy.
