MoMO lecture series with AnthroMob
Over the past six months, the Anthropology and Mobility Network has held six lectures as part of its Moving Mobilities Online (MoMO) series, including one hybrid lecture by Laura Lamas-Abraira hosted by KU Leuven’s Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. ENQA workshop Queer Alliances: Realities and Possibilities.
On 20 March 2026, ENQA organised the online workshop Queer Alliances: Realities and Possibilities. The event began with four researchers presenting works in progress, generating lively discussion and exchange among participants. The evening session featured a keynote by Paola Bacchetta, “Conceptualising Queer Alliances,” which drew on themes from her book Co-motion: Re-Thinking Power, Subjects, and Feminist and Queer Alliances (2026) and prompted further reflection on the possibilities and challenges of queer alliances.

13 February-19 June 2026: What is Critique? An Allegra Lab-Lawnet webinar series.
This webinar series brings together anthropologists with scholars from adjacent disciplines to discuss their understanding of critique. At a time when the very notion of critical thought is under pressure, if not outright threatened—within academia, public institutions, and the broader sphere of political discourse—this initiative seeks to interrogate the stakes, meanings, and modalities of critique today. In a context saturated by snap judgments and polarized discourse, it is urgent to pause and ask: What constitutes a critical gesture, and what can it still do? What forms can critique take, and under what conditions does it remain possible? This series of online and in person workshops aims to produce an open-ended & open-access Definitionless Dictionary in the Shadow of Impending Global Fascism.In times when academic writing feels more and more powerless, and when we feel our voices have to replicate the violent abstractions that have been enacted upon us, we insist on reclaiming joy in our thinking and knowledge production. Anthropologists and the anthropologically-adjacent will collectively rework their relationship to anthropological key concepts through making unruly connections between concepts and ethnographic material. After a writing retreat with participants organised prior to the EASA conference in Poznan, the final outcome will be presented during a LAWNET roundtable at the conference.
