Call for Interest – CSP Network Convenors (2 positions)

The CSP Network (EASA) is looking for candidates to renew its team of convenors, starting in May 2027 (two-year term, renewable once). Two positions are available, and we are particularly looking for one scholar with a permanent position and one early career scholar (including Ph.D. students).

All CSP Network members who are interested and meet our criteria may apply. Please submit your application by 10 September 2026 by sending a 500-word motivation statement outlining your reasons and vision for the network’s future to csp.easa@gmail.com. Candidates will be selected by the current team of convenors during autumn 2026.

Candidate profiles (criteria):

  • CSP Network member
  • trained anthropologist, doing fieldwork on contemporary spiritual practices
  • based in Europe or carrying out fieldwork in Europe, with the possibility of attending the biennial CSP Network workshop and EASA conference in Europe
  • proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • motivated, responsible and engaged
  • ideally, with experience in coordinating scientific activities and projects

Important: Convenors must be paid-up EASA members for the entire duration of their mandate.

Tasks of CSP Network convenors (see also the Handover Package for EASA Network Convenors):

  • prepare and submit the network’s annual report to EASA
  • in years when there is no EASA biennial conference, prepare and submit a funding application to the EASA
  • provide strategic oversight and support to the activities of the network’s Working Groups
  • convene and chair the annual assembly with the Board and Working Group coordinators to review progress, discuss priorities, and plan future activities
  • attend the CSP Network workshop in person
  • represent the CSP Network at the EASA biennial conference, either in person, where attendance is possible, or online
  • convene the network’s meeting during the EASA biennial conference
  • participate in meetings of the EASA network convenors and maintain communication with the EASA on matters relevant to the network
  • promote member engagement, foster collaboration across the network, and support the development of new initiatives consistent with the network’s objectives
  • identify and engage potential new network members and support their involvement in specific roles
  • follow and ensure that the EASA Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy are respected by all CSP Network members
