To start with, here are some of our strong points

  • Curiosity is what we want, oodles of it. Plus, lots of independence and autonomy.
  • Responsibility in hugely exciting projects for the future attracting attention beyond the professional world.
  • Focus on research that is geared towards practical orientation and the education of committed people rather than mere profit maximisation.
  • An operating culture that fosters diversity, artistic openness and the transitions between disciplines, attitudes and traditions.

And here are even more good reasons to opt for BFH

What you’ll be doing here

  • Coordinate and manage a sub-project in the SNSF research project «Shaping Baukultur: value-based and participatory» (part of NRP 81 Baukultur)
  • Research innovative participatory methods (based on the technique of cultural probes) and develop concrete instruments for the sustainable transformation of Baukultur
  • Coordinate cooperation within the framework of the research programme, with the practice partners and other stakeholders
  • Prepare and publish research results for experts and for the general public and take on organisational and administrative tasks

What you’ll bring with you

  • PhD in social design, spatial sociology, architectural sociology, human geography or a related field
  • Experience with cultural probes and other design research methods, including participatory design, qualitative and ethnographic methods
  • Experience in inter- and transdisciplinary project work and a high degree of independence, strong organisational skills, motivation and commitment
  • Excellent knowledge of English, German and French

The interviews will take place on December 7, 2026 in Bern
