🩺 Assistant Professor Opportunity!
The Department of Anthropology at Texas A&M University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Medical Anthropology, a full-time, 9-month tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2027. The department seeks a scholar whose research examines how social, cultural, and environmental influences shape human health and health outcomes from a biocultural perspective. Areas of particular interest include cardiovascular disease, cognitive aging, neurodegenerative conditions, infectious disease, reproductive health, environmental exposures, and health disparities.
The successful candidate will:
📌 Maintain an active, externally funded research program on human health from a biocultural perspective
📌 Teach a 2-2 course load across undergraduate and graduate levels, including the department’s growing pre-health pathway
📌 Mentor PhD and undergraduate students in field- or lab-based research
📌 Participate in service at the department, college, and university levels
