Elisa Lanari is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity. Her research looks at how people and communities mobilize around issues of inequality, diversity, social and spatial change, whether by studying the shifting politics of whiteness in U.S. suburbs, or tracing the afterlives of “refugee welcome” initiatives in Italian mountain towns.
