In 2026, Social Anthropology / Anthropologie sociale has returned to Q1 status in the SCImago Journal Rankings – and we couldn’t be more pleased! After a dip in 2022, this recognition reflects the quality, dedication, and rigour that our community of authors, reviewers and editors has invested in the journal. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everyone who has contributed to making this possible! And an invitation to continue this collective effort!

This follows the success from last year, when Social Anthropology / Anthropologie sociale ranked 6th among socio-cultural anthropology journals according to the Google Scholar Metrics 2025 (June 2025). Both rankings globally confirm our journal among the most visible and impactful publications in the field. They also reflect the outstanding scholarship that EASA members continue to produce, and the growing reach of the work published in our pages. Thank you all for being part of this!
