Essential updates for Thursday at EASA2026 cover hybrid session guidelines for presenters, emergency chat support, and campus catering instructions. The day features a special multi-ethnic city walk with the AMU Vice-Rector, midday publishing workshops, the EASA Plenary and AGM, and the evening Lakeside Concert.
Information for Conference Presenters and Conveners
As you arrive to your sessions tomorrow, please take a moment to refresh your zoom knowledge. There are not always enough volunteers and Nomads to get to each room immediately.
When you show up to your room about 20-15 minutes before the start, someone will be with you before the start. The camera and microphone will be set up. In most rooms this is 2-in-1 with the webcam on the tripod. You can focus on remembering to make sure the presentation is shared on zoom, and turn the webcam towards the speaker when they are presenting, or the audience, when they are asking questions.

Chat box
In case there is no volunteer in your room, we have added a chat box on the conference homepage, in the bottom right corner. By clicking on it, you can send a message to our office, and we can send someone over to help with your room. Bear in mind that we will still have people roaming around the panel room areas in any case, and we might be close by.

Catering
Please note that there are catering stations at each of the three buildings, all cater for the common dietary requirements: vegetarian, halal, vegan, lactose and gluten fee. Only those with a pink badge indicating allergies have to use Politicum, though Politicum also caters all other diets. Biologicum has shorter queues.
The boxes are biodegradable, so please do not put them in the bins around campus, but leave them at the tables with black tablecloths labelled as “Selection Point”.
City Walks
For those interested in seeing more of the city there are a number of city walks available for free for delegates, funded by the City of Poznan sign up is available at the city info desk near reception each day. You can only sign up for the walks on the same day, so be sure to get there early as they are a maximum of 25 participants!
New City Walk!
There will be an additional city walk guided by the vice-rector of Adam Mickiewicz University, Professor Rafal Witkowski, who was at the Opening and Keynote on Tuesday. This walking tour will be especially for those interested in the multi ethnic history of the city.
Thursday 17:30 – 19:00 by the main entrance of the Zamek (Święty Marcin street: ul. Święty Marcin 80/82, 61-809 Poznań), pictured below. You can sign up at the reception desk.
Guided Tour of Poznań Old Town in English
On Saturday, 25 July, the Poznań Tourist Information Centre will organize its weekly guided tour of the Old Town in English.
The tour starts at 1:00 PM. Registration is available until 1:00 PM on the day of the tour. The participation fee is PLN 30 per person.
The number of participants is limited. Registration can be completed at the Tourist Information Centre on the Old Market Square or online via the Visit Poznań website. Due to the limited number of participants, early registration is advised.

Pre Lunch Event
During the first Refreshment break at 10:55 – 11:25 in the Library Hall of the Historicum building the Berghahn Books reception will take place.
Lunch Events
Workshop by BBNG: Countermapping the Borderscape. Methodological Reflections from the Polish–Belarusian Border will take place during lunch at 13:15 – 15:00 in room 125 in the Politicum building. Register at the BBNG information stall during the conference in Politicum 1st Floor Foyer.
Anthropology and Anthropologists at a Time of Repression, Genocide, and Militarization is another lunch time event taking place between 13:30 – 15:00 in room 2.102 of the Historicum building.
On the same floor there is also Gradhiva. Journal of Anthropology and Histories of Arts Discussion with the editor, Benoît de L’Estoile from 13:45 to 15:00 in room 2.104 in the Historicum building.
Finally at the same time there is From Submission to Publication: What Editors Want You to Know from 13:45 to 15:00 in room 2.103 in the Historicum building.
Plenary and AGM
After lunch we move to the Collegium Minus’s Concert Hall where the EASA Exec Committee Plenary will take place.
After a break for refreshments the EASA AGM will start in the same building and room.
Evening Events
For those looking for an evening of creativity and inspiration The Ethnographic Salon from 19:30 to 22:30 in the Pawlion (Ewangelicka 1 Poznań, Województwo wielkopolskie).
For those looking to immerse themselves in music and preformance art the Lakeside Concert organised by the Local Committee and the City of Poznań is something truly special. Please have read of the description of timetable for more details.

ℹ️ As the conference is hybrid and everything happens simultanously also in Zoom, presenters and convenors cannot use their own laptops for presenting – all files must be transferred onto the room’s PC.
ℹ️ For parents who have signed up for childcare please head to the library of the Collegium Historicum. As a reminder Wednesday childcare operating hours are: 8:40 -13:35.
ℹ️ For those needing a quiet space there are spaces in the library in the Historicum that are soundproof, as well as Politicum, 57 and Historicum, 1.48 as assigned spaces for you to use.
ℹ️ For those needing a place to work please head to to the library in Historicum.
ℹ️ For those needing a place to nurse or spend a quiet moment with your child please head to the NomadIT office in 1.63 and we will find you a room.
ℹ️ Lunch is served today at 13:15 – 15:00 in all three of the buildings. Catering is vegetarian; with vegan, gluten free, and lactose free options. Your badge will indicate to the catering team your dietary needs, so remember to keep this visible! There are coffee stations on multiple floors, so please check upstairs if you go to a a ground floor station and there are queues.
ℹ️ Those with allergies or complex dietary needs will be emailed separately, but be sure to remember to go to Collegium Politicum to collect your lunch, as these will be there.
WiFi
There were lots of reports of institutional eduroams not working on day one, it seems that the new security certificate, and a problem with signal strength, have created this problem. We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience.
All delegates were emailed with a guest eduroam username and password, please use this if you are having problems with your home eduroam.
For any problems, please come to the conference office in 1.63 by the registration desk in Historicum so we can direct you to the best person to help.
