Travelling to EASA 2026? This guide helps you plan your journey to Poznań, get to the Morasko Campus, and make the most of your stay – including discounts and free public transport for delegates.
EASA2026 in Poznań will take place across multiple venues:
- Morasko Campus will host the registration desk as well as all panels, roundtables, and labs
- Collegium Minus will host the EASA2026 keynote sessions and plenaries
- Other local spots for EASA2026 film screenings, exhibitions, a concert and the traditional EASA party
Note: a trip from the Morasko Campus to the Collegium Minus takes 30 minutes, including a 15-minute tram ride and a 15-minute walk.
The conference badge serves as a free city pass, which entitles the delegates to free tram and bus rides as well as club and museum discounts. Please carry your badge with you when travelling – this is your ticket! Upon the arrival to Campus Morasko, come to the registration desk, get you badge and start enjoying the free city pass. NB: When travelling on public transport, please remember to carry a photo ID together with your conference badge, as both may be requested during ticket inspections.
Morasko Campus
The EASA2026 registration desk, panels and labs will be held at the Morasko Campus (and the seat of the Institute of Anthropology and Ethnology) – a green and spacious university setting on the northern edge of Poznań. The Morasko Campus is located on the outskirts of the city, but is very well connected to the centre thanks to the fast tram route. Set in a green a pleasantly spacious environment, it will offer a relaxed setting for our conference.

The conference registration desk is located at the Collegium Historicum (Wydział Historii UAM), at the Morasko Campus. The building is headquarters of the UAM Institute of Anthropology and Ethnology and the main EASA2026 hub.

Getting to Campus Morasko:
From Poznan Glowny (Poznan Main Station) and Poznan Bus Station:
- Purchase a 15-minute ticket (see the Buying travel tickets section to learn more).
- Find the Dworzec Zachodni PST tram stop (located on the west side of the railway station) and take tram 12 or 14 which is marked Os. Sobieskiego.
- Get off at the final stop Os. Sobieskiego. You are now 5-min walk from the Campus Morasko area where the main conference venue is located.
From Poznan Airport:
- Use the signs for Bus/Autobus to locate the stop – a short distance from the terminal
- Buy a ticket opting for 90 minutes to ensure it covers the entire journey, including changes (see the Buying travel tickets section to learn more).
- Take bus 159 or 148 towards Poznan Main Station, and get off at Rondo Koponiera; the trip takes approximately 20-30 minutes.
- From Rondo Kaponiera, take a tram to Os. Sobieskiego, about 15 minutes to the final stop Os. Sobieskiego
- Get off at the final stop Os. Sobieskiego. You are now 5-min walk from the Campus Morasko area where the main conference venue is located.

For plenaries and keynotes, we will move to the Collegium Minus, one of Poznań’s most iconic academic buildings in the historic centre – an occasion to enjoy the old city’s heritage and vibe.

There are frequent tram connections available for the daily journey from the Morasko Campus to Collegium Minus. The nearest tram stop to the Morasko Campus is “Osiedle Sobieskiego”, while the “Most Teatralny” tram stop offers the most convenient access to Collegium Minus – as well as only slightly more remote tram stops “Fredry”, “Rondo Kaponiera” or “Zamek”.

Getting to Poznań, Poland
There are various travel options to consider which could significantly reduce your carbon footprint when travelling to Poznań, especially if you are travelling overland, such as train or bus. Join with a group of colleagues to car-share or check out car share associations and networks. Also, why not consider the adventure of travelling by ferry from Scandinavia or the Baltic states?
Travel by train
Poznań is connected to most cities in Poland by an extensive route network of train services. Daily connections from other European cities are also available and usually involve non-direct trains, i.e. you need to change at least once to get to Poznan when travelling from most of the cities abroad.
Direct train connections are available from Berlin and Prague, as well as long distance through-trains from Amsterdam and even Basel.

The main Bus Station in Poznań (PKS Transport Company) is located on Matyi 2 Street, next to the Main Railway Station Poznań Główny. It provides both domestic and international transport services.

Travel by car to Poznan
Poznan is located along the A2 motorway which runs from the German border to Warsaw.
Poland has good motorways but also narrow, busy rural roads with trucks and mixed traffic.

It is also worth considering a hotel which offers guest parking if you are driving to Poznan.
Key driving requirements:
- Traffic in Poland is on the right-hand side. A vehicle moving along city streets must have its headlights on regardless of the time of day or year.
- The speed limits for a highway is 140 kph, a dual carriageway is 120 kph, on an expressway single carriageway and on a non-expressway dual carriageway is 100 kph. The speed limit for non-urban area is 90 kph and for urban area is 50 kph.
- Driving licence: EU/EEA national licence (with photo) is valid in Poland for up to 6 months. Vehicle registration and insurance.
- If travelling from the UK ensure your plate has the ‘UK‘ identifying sticker, not GB
Whilst driving in Poland it is mandatory to carry:
- warning triangle
- first-aid kit (recommended)
- headlamp beam deflectors (if driving on the right in a left-hand drive car)

Travel by ferry
The most popular passenger routes connect Poland with Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, as these are the only direct ferry routes.
A sea-crossing will last 1-2 days. There are direct comnnections with Ystad, Stockholm, Karlskrona, Copenhagen and Ronne.
The main Polish ports are Gdansk, Gdynia and Szczecin
Visitors to Gdansk will arrive at a modern terminal bus connections to the city centre. Travel from Gdansk to Poznań the onward journey is approximately 2 hrs 48 minutes by train, 4hours 36 minutes by car, 4 hours 20 minutes by bus or 3hours 45 minutes to fly.
Travel from Gdynia to Poznan the port of Gdynia also has favourabe transport connections with train journeys taking 3hours 14 minutes, buses 5 hours 5 minutes , car 3 hours 14 minutes and flights 3 hours and 50 minutes.

The train journey to Poznań is approximately 1 hour 46 minutes, buses take 3hours 35 minutes and by car it is a journey of approximately 2 hours 53 minutes.
Flying to Poznań
Poznan airport (POZ), the Lawica Henryk Wieniawski Airport (roughly 8km from the city centre) provides direct flights from 49 non-stop destinations from Cork and Lisbon in the west, Stockholm in the north and Dubai in the south.
Their providers include Ryanair, Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines, KLM and Wizz Air.
The usual method of travel from the airport to the city centre is by bus 159 or 148 which takes approximately 20 minutes ending at Rondo Kaponiera where you can transfer to other forms of transport depending on your accommodation destination.

Travelling by train to Poznań is a comfortable and lower-carbon option. Delegates can take the Eurostar from London to mainland Europe, then continue using regional trains. Tickets can be booked directly on the platforms like Omio. The full journey typically takes around 15 hours, depending on connections. Alternatively, delegates may choose to combine the Eurotunnel with driving, which takes approximately 12 hours.
Buses from the UK
Long-distance coach travel is one of the most economical ways to reach Poznań. Travel by bus from London to Poznan primarily with Flixbus, offering overnight routes with changes (often in Berlin or Warsaw). Book in advance and compare costs on sites like Busbud or Omio and CheckMyBus for carriers like Flixbus and Ecolines, National Express. Journey times typically range from 18 to 24 hours as these are international routes with stops and border crossings.
Driving from the UK
Driving offers flexibility and the chance to travel at your own pace. The journey from the UK to Poznań takes approximately 13 hours 25 minutes, including a car ferry crossing. Delegates may also consider car-sharing with colleagues – an eco-friendlier option that can make the trip more fun and cost-effective.

Trams and buses
Trams are the primary means of transport with buses being supplementary.
Trams and buses in Poznań are modern, with air-conditioning and low boards making them very accesible for prams and wheelchairs. Most vehicles are equipped with symbols indicating wheelchair access. Some buses (but not trams) have “on demand” stops which are marked ‘N/Z‘ and can be used to hail a driver to stop.

Buying travel tickets
EASA2026 delegates are entitled to free transportation across the city. Please use your conference badge – it is your free ticket! The only ticket you will need to buy is for the trip to the Morasko Campus, EASA2026 registration desk. Upon registration you will receive the conference badge-cum-free city pass.
Tram and bus tickets in Poznań depend on the length of the trip (thus we have 15-, 45-, and 90-minute tickets; for example, from Dworzec Zachodni (PST) to Osiedle Sobieskiego is a 13-minute trip, so you will need a 15-minute ticket).
Paper tickets can be purchased in the ticket machines located at the majority of main stops (they offer service also in English). The paper tickets need to validated in yellow ticket validators available on all trams or buses. You can also buy an electronic ticket for a single trip with your debit or credit card on a tram or a bus in a bigger yellow ticket machine – choose the right type of ticket, pay with a card and the ticket will be automatically saved on your card.

It‘s free and explains exactly how to get to your destination using live transit connections based on your location. It includes trams and buses, it guides you to the necessary transit stop on foot, and tells you what kind of ticket you need. By entering your bank details you can buy tickets and validate them through the App.

Cycling
Poznań is an excellent city for cycling, if you are a keen cyclist, or want to utilise a greener option of getting around the city. It has green corridors running to the north/south and east/west, it also has two nature reserves and Adam Mickiewicz university is situated in one of them. Poznań City has worked extremely hard to ensure it is a safe-cycling city and offers an extensive network of cycle paths and safe intersections.

Walking

Time Zone
Poland is in the Central European Time Zone. Central European Standard Time (CET) is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1). Like mostof Europe, Summer (Daylight-Saving) Time is observed in Poland, where the time is shifted forward by 1 hour; 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2). After the Summer months the time in Poland Time is shifted back by 1 hour to Central European Time (CET) or (GMT+1).
Climate
Poland is in a temperate climate zone. It is a transition area from sea to continental climate and characterized by significant temperature variations. The hottest months are July and August (when temperatures exceed 20C/68F).
Free WiFi
Poznań offers free WiFi access to its residents and tourists. The Poznań wireless network rangecovers the entire Old Town and the Plac Wolności area, most of the tourist atractions, as well as selected bus and tram stops and lines, Railway Station and Ławica Airport.
In addition, most shopping centers offer free WiFi access. Many restaurants and cafes offer WiFi access passwords per request.
Currency
The currency in Poland is the zloty which has the offical code PLN. Use this link for a useful currency convertor.
Normal methods of payment are acceptable credit/debit card , also have some cash available as some traders prefer cash. Mobile payments are also acceptable or a pre-paid travel debit card. It is always a good idea to have more than one payment method available.
Currently the exchange rate is4.20 zloty to 1 euro and just over 4.80 zloty to £1 (obviously there is some daily fluctuation in rates).
Plug sockets
Remember to pack adaptors, you will need a European two-prong adapter if you have devices that use other plugs.
Only five Continental European countries use the slightly different, but fully compatible, French type E standard (France, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic & Slovakia).
The electricity standard in Poland is 230 Volts AC, 50Hz (the standard frequency in Poland).
Telephone and cell operators
The international access code to Poland is +48, and the prefix number for Poznań is 61. To dial an international number from Poland you need to precede your country number with 00 (double zero). Cellular telephones: All three operators use dualband system: GSM 900/DCS 1800. DCS 1900 is not available. The major operators are: T-mobile, Plus, Play and Orange.Poland).
