Reminder: CfP “Beyond Infrastructure?” – Conference at the University of Vienna (Sept 22–24, 2025)
Dear all,
A friendly reminder that this is the final week to submit proposals for the international conference “Beyond Infrastructure? (Un-)built Environments in the Anthropocene.” The deadline is next Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Hosted by the ERC Advanced Grant project “Building Arctic Futures: Transport Infrastructures and Sustainable Northern Communities” (InfraNorth) and the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna (September 22–24, 2025), the conference will engage a range of issues stemming from human and more-than-human interactions with built, unbuilt, and not-yet-built environments, infusing infrastructure studies with environmental perspectives. We welcome proposals from across the social sciences, arts and humanities, natural sciences, and engineering, and encourage submissions that engage with any region of the world—and beyond.
To submit your proposal, please provide the following:
An abstract of up to 250 words Five keywords characterizing your research A short bio of 50–70 words
Please send everything as a single PDF document no later than April 6 to beyondinfrastructure.ksa@univie.ac.at. Acceptance notifications will be sent in early May, with registration starting shortly thereafter.
