What are you paying for?

EASA prioritises the attendance of precarious scholars using the full price fees to subsidise the low-income registration fee, and also through funding travel and accommodation of many of those on low/no income.

F2f registration gives access to an opening drinks reception, five tea/coffee breaks, and all sessions and events. There will be no lunch provided with registration.

Each conference involves development and maintenance of the software for processing panel and paper abstracts and registrations, answering hundreds of emails a day, supporting panel convenors in their roles, planning events, creating timetables, facilitating communication, offering advice, taking payments, balancing the finances, training volunteers, maintaining a website with useful information for participants and finally seeing the actual event through, 24/7, both for the online day and on-site.

While the virtual event has no catering to pay for, as you can see, there is much labour that goes into the successful running of it in order for delegates to have the opportunity to attend and share their work. The participation in the online day is envisioned as something people enjoy from morning to evening.

Funding

Through a generous award from the Wenner-Gren Foundation, supplemented by EASA money, funds were made available to support delegate attendance.

The call for funding was open until 2 April, outcome was announced on 24 April. Of 670 applicants, 500 were eligible according to the criteria. 21% of eligible applicants were awarded funding.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not bookable as part of registration, but we have gathered lots of good deals for you, shown on the accommodation page.

Cancelation and Refund Policy

If you are unhappy with the service you are provided as a delegate, you do have the right to cancel your booking and request a refund. Cancellations more than three weeks before the conference will be refunded, less a small amount (75€) to cover administrative and finance costs. Cancellations after that point (2 July 2024) will not be offered a full refund, due to costs already incurred. Refunds at that point will be discretionary.

Each request will be considered on its merits, and in line with The Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, and where appropriate a full refund will be given. Refunds should be requested by email to conference(at)easaonline.org. If you receive no response to that email address, then our postal address is EASA, c/o RAI, 50 Fitzroy St, London W1T 5BT, UK.
